Southwest Fine Art photographer based in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a mature adult I decided early on to only photograph content within a day drive of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is my belief an artist will always do best capturing that which they know best, IE: "Their own back yard". With this as a goal I have a body of work which captures the natural beauty of the desert southwest. By exposing ourselves to it, we have the opportunity to rediscover our innocence and feel again from our deepest self...

The Purposeful Photographer

Each time I press the shutter button a thought goes through my mind, am I fulfilling the philosophy that this image conveys a message, tells a story, is representative of my brand of photography and most of all reflecting what I am felling at that moment. The checklist: is this image representing a perception of timelessness, hopefulness, is it regal and most of all capture the charm of the moment. For me this is what separates a picture from a piece of photographic art.

For me photography has become a subliminal/universal language conveying a compelling message of who I am and how a moment in time stirs my finest feelings. This is my brand, what I have to offer. Composition sets the scene, describes the moment and fills in the blanks: who, what, when and why. The images contained within the “Desert Fox Portfolio” reflect a consistency, a flow that encompasses a cohesive body of work. I have labeled it the:

WOW Factor.

When images mature to the point that the concept overshadows the composition then the photographer has something important to convey. The concept is simple: the image reflects an idea or emotion that stops one in their tracks, whispers in your ear there was something here worth photographing. No longer is it my purpose to “say I was here” rather raise my body of work to a higher level… capture images that are metaphorical.

Desert Fox Photography has evolved to reflect a state of mind rather than record a place in time. It is my pleasure to share the beauty of the southwest desert in all it’s iconic splendor.
