This gallery of images are very special to me as a person and a photographer. This is where I live and work and over the years have come to love. It has it’s pluses and minuses, no place is perfect, but as a place to grow from, it is very special.
The photo essay all started with the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. All I wanted was an unusual view of this Iconic symbol every visitor wants as a memory of their visit here. Then I started to observe what visitors were not seeing or pass by so quickly they never new these spots were there.
The more I explored, the more I discovered, the more I appreciated the privilege of living in Las Vegas.
As a photographer I quickly observed how difficult it is to photograph this city, the lighting, the crowds, the lack of city planning, it became a personal challenge to capture the serene and majestic ambiance of this urban environment. The results are the creation of this collection of images I titled “ A Jewel in the Desert”!
